With this program, you will be able to obtain the SportsKingdom Certification in Umpiring. Umpires control cricket matches with absolute impartiality in accordance with the Spirit of Cricket and Laws of the game. This course is designed to equip participants with the necessary skills and information to officiate as an Umpire in friendly and competitive matches as well as providing an entry for those with a desire to officiate on a regular basis.

This program exposes aspiring Umpires to various techniques to be followed on the field of play. That is why we have put together a unique learning pathway by expert panelists with a wealth of umpiring and Umpires training experience.

MARCUS COUTO
CHIEF CONSULTANT (UMPIRING COURSES)
Marcus has umpired in two Women’s One Day Internationals. He has umpired for the Board of Control for Cricket in India for 25 years. Marcus Couto stood FIRST in the Umpires Exams conducted by Mumbai Cricket Association and became a Gold Medalist Umpire of MCA. He has umpired locally for 40 years in all the major tournaments. He retired in October 2020 from The Cricket Club of India Limited, Brabourne Stadium, after 37 years of service. He has been regularly Umpiring for last decade in the Central Yorkshire league and other tournaments in the United Kingdom. He has been a private mentor to many Umpires all over the globe. He has written and published more than a dozen books, including on the Laws of Cricket. He has been a member, office bearer and founder in several Associations in connection to Cricket and Umpiring. He has purchased a land at Neral Matheran, Karjat, Maharashtra to start a Cricket Umpiring Academy. A proposal to join hands with SportsKingdom is under consideration.
A. R. SRINIVASAN
HEAD TUTOR
A. R. Srinivasan has been associated with the game of Cricket for over five decades as a player, Umpire, match manager, administrator, Umpire educator at both local and international levels.
He has held several positions, such as, a Jt. General Secretary of a national federation, head of Umpiring and Tournament committees for eight years, Umpires Educator for a decade, represented a state team in CK Nayudu Under-19 tournament as a player, team manager etc. While he has over 24 years of Umpiring experience, he is also an Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Level 2 Umpire who has officiated in both ACC and ICC International tournaments. As an ACC certified Level 2 Educator for almost a decade, he has trained Umpires in several courses including the ACC certified Level 2 Course that he conducted single handedly in the month of Nov 2020. His long lasting love, passion and dedication for the game of cricket is highly appreciated by everyone. Several Umpires trained by him are now in the ICC Development panel.
In the recent past he has spent hundreds of hours training Umpires online from different geographical locations. His commitment to the game and knowledge of the Laws have been applauded and commended by one and all.

BHANU PRAKASH P
TUTOR
Bhanu Prakash started his Umpiring journey in 1988 with Andhra Cricket Association State Panel. He was inducted into the BCCI Ranji Trophy Panel in the year 1991 and made his first class debut in the same year at Surat between Bombay & Gujarat. He was promoted to the All India Panel in the year 1996. He has officiated in 37 first class matches totaling to over 300 matches, including the prestigious Duleep Trophy and the Vijay Hazare & Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Matches. He officiated in his first International match as a Reserve Umpire in the India v/s Australia T20 match played at Mumbai. He retired from active Umpiring in the 2019 after having completed 28 years long years with BCCI. During this period and later, he has continued to train Umpires in his home state and has conducted regular refresher courses.
AJIT KUMAR BHASKAR
TUTOR
Ajit Kumar. B has been involved in the game as a player, organiser & Umpire from 1980. He is a former member of Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). He became a state panel Umpire in 1983 and served on the BCCI panel of Umpires from 1997 to 2018. Ajit is currently a member of KCA Umpires’ Committee and has been involved in training Umpires for long by conducting regular courses. Umpires trained by him have progressed to reach BCCI panel and ICC affiliate panel.
CHANDRAKANT MHATRE
TUTOR
Chandrakant has been a state Panel Umpire with Mumbai Cricket Association. He passed the MCA Umpires exam in 2007. He has umpired in all major local tournaments in Mumbai, including the Times Shield Cricket Tournaments ‘A’ and ‘B’ Divisions. He has been umpiring for last 15 years and during this period has organised several Umpiring seminars for Raigad District Cricket Association. In the last five years he is seen officiating in Community and Corporates Tournaments. Cricket Umpiring has always been his first priority in life.
VIKAS LUND
HONORARY GUEST CONSULTANT
Vikas is a current umpire on the BCCI panel of national Umpires. He has been on the panel since the last 8 years and officiated in about 300 days of representative cricket with the BCCI. He had a 3 year stint in the United Kingdom, mainly at Surrey. He is also a Qualified England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Level 2 Certified umpire and qualified ECB Level 1-A Educator. He has conducted various umpire education programmes at various levels in India and England. He is experienced in dealing with a diverse set of Umpires and Players so as to cater to individual needs. He had a short umpiring stint in Germany with the Deutscher Cricket Bund. Vikas has been involved with grassroots cricket in India since 15 years.
He umpired in a women’s international series between India and Bangladesh. He is a member of various advisory committees at the Karnataka State Cricket Association.
Umpires trained by him have gone on to Umpire at various levels of cricket, both in a professional and recreational capacity.
